Try Writing

Have you read a good book and thought “I wish I could do that”?
Have you started a bad book and thought “I could do better than that”?
Are you a poet, but you just don’t know it?
Could you at least write a less corny line than that last one?

At our meetings we regularly set exercises for members to write a short piece around a theme. These include

  • Continue a story from a starting paragraph
  • Write a piece inspired by a picture or photograph
  • A decagram – write a piece which must contain ten set words
  • A short story written to a word limit e.g. 500 words
